The CPW was not always a “GmbH” (LLC) and even today is not a classical law firm. The CPW originates from the patent department of the former Fibers and Polymer Division of Akzo Nobel (the Netherlands) and was founded as a company for rendering services in the field of Intellectual Property in 2001. The abbreviation still today displays this origin, and was – at that time – standing for “Corporate Patent Department Wuppertal”.
The CPW today has clients ranging from large concerns over medium-sized enterprises to universities and individual inventors.
